Ingredients
  

For the Blackened Seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper adjust to taste
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt
For the Salmon
  • 4 fillets salmon skin-on or skinless
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil for cooking

Method
 

Prepare the Seasoning
  1. In a small bowl, mix together paprika, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, thyme, oregano, black pepper, and salt to create the blackened seasoning.
Season the Salmon
  1. Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels. Rub the blackened seasoning generously over both sides of each fillet.
Cook the Salmon
  1. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat until hot. Add the salmon fillets, skin-side down, and cook for about 4-5 minutes until the skin is crispy.
  2. Carefully flip the fillets and cook for another 3-4 minutes until the salmon is cooked through and has a blackened crust.
Serve
  1. Remove the salmon from the skillet and let it rest for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy with your favorite sides.
