  • 2 cups fresh blueberries washed and stems removed
  • 1 medium jalapeño pepper seeded and finely chopped
  • 1 cup sugar granulated
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice freshly squeezed
  • 1 tablespoon pectin powdered

Method
 

Cooking the Jam
  1. In a saucepan, combine the blueberries, chopped jalapeño, sugar, and lemon juice. Stir well to combine.
  2. Heat the mixture over medium heat until it begins to boil, stirring frequently.
  3. Once boiling, add the pectin and continue to boil for an additional 5 minutes, stirring constantly.
  4. Remove the saucepan from heat and let the jam cool for a few minutes.
  5. Pour the jam into sterilized jars and seal while still warm. Allow to cool completely before storing in the refrigerator.
