Blueberry Jam

Ingredients
  

Fruits
  • 4 cups fresh blueberries washed and stems removed
Sweeteners
  • 2 cups granulated sugar adjust to taste
Acid
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice freshly squeezed
Pectin
  • 1 package pectin for thickening

Method
 

Prepare the Blueberries
  1. In a large saucepan, combine the blueberries and lemon juice. Mash the blueberries slightly with a wooden spoon to release their juices.
Cook the Jam
  1. Add the sugar and pectin to the saucepan. Stir well to combine and bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat.
  2. Once boiling, continue to cook for about 10 minutes, stirring frequently until the mixture thickens.
Jar the Jam
  1. Remove the saucepan from heat and ladle the hot jam into sterilized jars. Seal the jars while hot.
  2. Allow the jars to cool completely at room temperature before storing them in the refrigerator.

Notes
