Ingredients
  

Batter
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk whole or 2%
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup sugar granulated
  • 1 teaspoon ground cardamom or to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Filling
  • 2 cups fresh blueberries or frozen, thawed
Topping
  • powdered sugar for dusting optional

Method
 

Prepare the oven and dish
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch pie dish or baking dish with butter or cooking spray.
Make the batter
  1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, sugar, ground cardamom, salt, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  2. Gradually add the flour, whisking until just combined and smooth.
Assemble the clafoutis
  1. Pour half of the batter into the prepared dish. Scatter the blueberries evenly over the batter, then pour the remaining batter on top.
Bake
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, or until the clafoutis is puffed and golden brown, and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Serve
  1. Allow to cool slightly before dusting with powdered sugar and serving warm or at room temperature.
