Ingredients
  

Marinade
  • 2 lbs flank steak or skirt steak
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1/4 cup lime juice freshly squeezed
  • 1 tbsp orange juice freshly squeezed
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tbsp ground cumin
  • 1 tbsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp oregano dried
Toppings
  • 1 cup fresh cilantro chopped
  • 1 medium onion diced
  • 1 medium lime cut into wedges
  • 1 cup salsa optional

Method
 

Marinate the Steak
  1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together olive oil, lime juice, orange juice, garlic, cumin, chili powder, salt, pepper, and oregano.
  2. Place the flank steak in a resealable plastic bag and pour the marinade over it. Seal the bag and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, preferably overnight.
Grill the Steak
  1. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
  2. Remove the steak from the marinade and discard the marinade. Grill the steak for about 5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until desired doneness.
  3. Let the steak rest for 5 minutes before slicing it against the grain.
Serve
  1. Serve the sliced carne asada with chopped cilantro, diced onion, lime wedges, and salsa on the side.
