Ingredients
  

Herbs and Seasonings
  • 1 cup fresh parsley, chopped packed
  • 1/4 cup fresh oregano, chopped or 1 tablespoon dried oregano
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes adjust to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt or to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper freshly ground
Liquid Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup olive oil extra virgin recommended
  • 1/4 cup red wine vinegar

Method
 

Prepare the Ingredients
  1. Finely chop the parsley and oregano, and mince the garlic.
Mix the Sauce
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the chopped herbs, minced garlic, red pepper flakes, salt, and black pepper.
  2. Slowly whisk in the olive oil and red wine vinegar until well combined.
Serve
  1. Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary. Serve immediately or let it sit for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.

Notes

Chimichurri can be stored in the refrigerator for up to a week. It tastes even better after a day as the flavors develop.
