Ingredients
  

Beef
  • 3 pounds beef chuck roast trimmed of excess fat
Sauce
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce your favorite brand
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt
Buns and Toppings
  • 4 pieces burger buns toasted
  • 1 cup coleslaw optional topping
  • 1 cup pickles optional topping

Method
 

Prepare the Beef
  1. Season the beef chuck roast with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and smoked paprika.
  2. Place the seasoned beef in the slow cooker.
Make the Sauce
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine barbecue sauce, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, apple cider vinegar, and mix well.
  2. Pour the sauce over the beef in the slow cooker.
Cook the Beef
  1. Cover the slow cooker and cook on low for 8 hours or until the beef is tender and easily shredded.
Shred and Serve
  1. Once cooked, remove the beef from the slow cooker and shred it using two forks.
  2. Return the shredded beef to the slow cooker and mix it with the sauce.
  3. Serve the pulled beef on toasted burger buns topped with coleslaw and pickles if desired.
