Ingredients
  

Blackberry Jam Ingredients
  • 4 cups fresh blackberries washed and stems removed
  • 1 cup granulated sugar adjust to taste
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice freshly squeezed
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract optional
  • 1 packet pectin for thickening

Method
 

Prepare the Ingredients
  1. In a large bowl, combine the blackberries, sugar, lemon juice, and vanilla extract. Stir gently to mix.
Cook the Jam
  1. Transfer the mixture to the slow cooker. Cover and cook on low for 4 hours, stirring occasionally.
Add Pectin
  1. After 4 hours, stir in the pectin and cook for an additional 30 minutes until the jam thickens.
Jar the Jam
  1. Once thickened, pour the jam into sterilized jars and seal. Allow to cool before storing in the refrigerator.
